Azelio plans 25 MW of energy storage installations in Jordan

Swedish thermal energy storage developer Azelio on Monday outlined plans to deploy about 25 MW of its systems in Jordan through 2023 under a newly agreed commercial collaboration. The company said it has agreed on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with local general contracting firm Hussein Atieh & Sons Co (HAE) to team up on a small-scale project. They will start with a 50-kW installation this year and plan to add 3 MW in 2021, 7 MW in 2022 and 15 MW in 2023. Azelio noted that the maiden project will be executed in the final quarter of 2020 and added that an unnamed company, being the identified preliminary end-user, will be assessing its technology for the supply of power to a steel factory.
