HERLOGAS to preheat salt tanks and provide melting services for Cerro Dominador Plant

In the Cerro Dominador project HERLOGAS will collaborate with ACCIONA and ABENGOA with the preheating of the three salt tanks and the melting process of the 46,000 tons of salt, until the cold tank is filled. The solar thermal plant is 110 MW with ABENGOA technology, it will be the first in Latin America. This project will generate clean energy for 24 hours and will have a thermal storage capacity in molten salts of 17.5 hours. The solar field, of 146 hectares, has 10,600 heliostats that will direct solar radiation to a receiver located at 252 meters high. This new project in Chile adds to the long history of Herlogas in more than 30 thermosolar projects with thermal storage in different countries (Spain, EEUU, South Africa, Morocco, Kuwait, Israel) having successfully carried out the heating of more than 73 salt tanks and melted more than 630,000 tons of salt. This new project reaffirms Herlogas in the field of removable energies and confirms Herlogas' commitment to climate change.
